Starting A Stub Article

What is a Stub?

A stub is a short article that is just the beginning of a larger article or discussion.  It is by nature incomplete. If a user wanted to see an article develop around a certain topic, but didn't necessarily want to contribute the whole article, or didn't feel qualified to speak to the topic, they could create a new page for that article, but instead of writing a complete article, they would write a paragraph or two getting the article started, or asking questions they might like answered.

For example, a user wanting to see some articles develop around the topic of prayer might create a page called, "Basics of Prayer."  Then in that page, they may write something like:

"Prayer is an important part of the life of faith.  I'd like to see an article develop laying out the Biblical basics of prayer, and offering suggestions on different ways a "beginner" might incorporate prayer into their life."  Then the original author or any aditor can add this banner, from the "Images and Files" link.  It's called "Notice - Stub.png."

That way other readers can easily see that this article is a  "stub" and know that this is an invitation to add to the discussion.
