Inventory your Oikos. Starting with the relationships closest to you, and working outward list the names of all the people you interact with on a regular basis. Start with family, friends, neighbors, work mates. Then move outward in your life, listing all the people that you see with some regularity - barrista, mechanic, favorite grocery store clerk, etc. List names, and the connection you have with these people. When the list is done, reflect: This is your Oikos. Did you ever consider that this is your mission field? That these are the people that God wants to do something in their lives through you? Are you open to these people, and looking for opportunities to bless and serve? What would it mean for you to be of great influence in this circle?
3. Reflect.
Come back here and leave a comment sharing your experience of doing this one thing. How did it impact you? Was it hard or easy? What questions did it raise for you? What does God seem to be saying to you through this process?
